The Dayton VA Medical Center Caregiver Support team gave an overview of the upcoming expansion of the Comprehensive Caregiver Support program, which was well received.
Our keynote speaker and inspiration for this event was Nakiea Turcotte of Wichita Falls, TX. Late in December she had faced many challenges with her husband and nearly lost him. During that time, we remained in close contact with her offering connection to resources she needed during this extensive hospital stay. At one point, she was asked, what else can we do to support you? Her reply was “honor those spouses such as me who have worked hard for decades to provide the best possible care for their veteran.” We could not have found a more fitting opportunity to honor those hidden heroes who honorable serve their veterans.
We would like to thank our donors for the beautiful decorations and many door prizes offered during our event.
